tag cloud is in effect, and comment form is up
Finally had a chance to work on my tag cloud today. I am using Category Tagging with WordPress plugin by Michael Woehrer, with a few tweaks. You’ll now see a tag cloud in the bottom of all my pages. The tags in the cloud are derived from the terms I use to categorize my posts. Frequency of the tag correlates with font size. Click on a term to see the posts categorized under that term.
Also added a contact form. Used WP Contact Form at One Woman Show, by Kristin K. Wangen, who added a subject line. Found Kristin via plugin creator Ryan Duff, then Douglas Karr who added spam protection.

Nice, I know you’ve been wanting this since you started the new hosted blog.

Thanks Phil! Getting the hang of things now, many thanks to you and Scott. One remark about free blogs…. I think after all is said and done I now would recommend Blogger for FREE WEB hosted blogs, due to all the new tagging fun and access to template. I simply did not have this kind of customizability at my old Wordpress.com blog.

Have you seen blogger’s new AJAX interface? Karen uses blogger, and she says it’s much nicer. I don’t know if you noticed, but she just added a tagcloud, too.

Yes, that’s all what I was referring to. :p
I still have my old Blogger acct and have followed the changes. I am happy with this site, but I think Blogger is a good choice for anyone who likes to tweak.

I like the tag cloud. I think it would be interesting to have a total word-use cloud, too.

Go for it Thomas!
Then post the code. Hee!

Thanks for the mention. As well - nice job on the tag cloud. It’s a creative and useful solution putting it at the base of the page like that. I’ve not see this before but it really works!
Regards,
Doug

nice tag cloud jennimi! i like the font. i am curious about the total word use cloud. what is it? i may look into this later when i have a boring moment.

PK, thanks for the compliment! The font is set in the stylesheet. I think what Thomas means by the total word use TG is that the words in the cloud would represent the top words used on a person’s site, rather than categories they selected? Am I making sense?
And T may correct me but I am not sure this exists for blog plug-ins anyway…. which is why I told him to write it. Hee. I bet Philip or Scott could, but would they consider it useful? And would they include all words or exclude things like “the”, “and”, “I”? And where would that process stop?
I guess since this is my space, I like the idea of picking my own categories to generate a cloud (primarily so I can go back and search with fewer keys and clicks), but heck, if there are uses for this kind, go for it!

i think it would be more “fun” to see. i would put it at the bottom if such a thing existed and keep my tag cloud at the side. you wouldn’t have that option w/o messing up your main tag cloud. hmm. if only such a thing existed we could try it out. some day.
