Bon Iver: For Emma, Forever Ago

Not much time for gabbing tonight but meantime, go get Bon Iver’s For Emma, Forever ago. (iblee!) Indie-ish, spledid, acoustic and experimental. Exactly the sound of me right now.
It’s perty, melancholy and anyone who loves Sun Kil Moon will likely like it.
And I hear a hint of Wayne in there. Thanks so much to ____ for the recommend. I’m hooked.
More:
Also seriously into Super Furry Animals (awesome show!!!!!), Spoon, Sunset Rubdown, and Explosions in the Sky (they sold out my friends! The Tralf, like a week ahead! But just take a guess who’s going! For once my anal retentive intuition worked out!), DJ Shadow (esp. Preemptive Strike, the predecessor to Endtroducing), The Olivia Tremor Control (Beatles fans….. ), (smog), Neil Young, Dan Bern (”Lithuania”), all things Flaming Lips, and of course digger second only to Shadow, Z-Trip. Oh and revisiting some Joni, too.

hmmm, bon iver, yeah, this is alright. and i mean that in the way lou reed means it, which is more meaningful, i think.

lj, … ok. it fits me. i don’t know what more meaningful means anymore, since everything means something different to everyone. and in many ways many words and things seem to be losing their “meaning.” what does Lou mean by “yeah, this is alright” do you think?

oh, that was totally a zoolander reference! but i think he usually means, when he says “alright” real cool that whatever he’s referring to is really cool. bon iver is really cool, and also really beautiful. in other news, i’m heavy back into person pitch again!
